Jamie Doughney

Dr James Doughney is currently an Emeritus Professor at Victoria University, Melbourne. He previously had research, teaching and leadership roles at the university and served on its governing Council 2006-12. He co-headed the University’s Workplace Studies Centre and its Work and Economic Policy Research Unit in the 1990s and 2000s. James has published in number of areas, including applied economics, history of economic thought, gambling, education and ethics. His interests include the study of higher education and the intersection of moral philosophy and economics. James’s roles have included being a moderator and the senior moderator for The Cranlana Programme and a national executive member and state president of Australia’s university staff association.
