Emmanuel Melissaris

Emmanuel (Manolis) Melissaris holds a degree in Law from the University of Athens and an MSc and PhD in Legal Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. He is the author of Ubiquitous Law (Ashgate/Routledge) and McCoubrey and White’s Textbook on Jurisprudence (OUP) as well as a large number of peer-reviewed articles on legal and political philosophy and the criminal law. His academic interests lie in theories of the state, pluralism and democracy, the philosophy of crime and punishment, and the philosophy of solidarity. Between 2002 and 2017 he taught at various UK universities (most recently as Associate Professor of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science). Since moving to Cyprus in 2017 he has been devoting most of his time to creative writing. Manolis is Alumnus of Agora Dialogue.
